STATE OF THE SKY. (ALL TIMES ON THIS SITE ARE GMT.)
We have an Annular Solar Eclipse tomorrow. Saturn is conjunct Neptune on Friday, and Mercury turns retrograde on the 26th.
The Sun today is at 28 degrees Aquarius. The Moon, Mars and Pluto are also in Aquarius. Mercury and Venus are in Pisces. Saturn and Neptune are in Aries. We are in an eclipse season with the Annular Solar Eclipse tomorrow. There is also a Total Lunar Eclipse on March 3rd.
The unconsummated 'epoch marking' conjunction of Saturn and Neptune, dominating most of 2025 in 'test of faith' Pisces, was closest on July 14th and is exactly conjunct on Feb 20th 2026 in Aries.
The Sun enters Pisces on Wednesday. There are 32 days to the Vernal equinox. Jupiter is the only planet currently retrograde but Mercury turns retrograde in 10 days time.
MERCURY
Mercury entered Pisces as an evening star on Feb 6th joining Saturn in this sign. Mercury resides in Pisces for a lengthy 63 days, performing his retrograde loop. Mercury trines Jupiter in Cancer 3 times during this period, conferring an optimistic, lucky fortuitous quality onto the 9 weeks. Mercury entered his shadow on Feb 11th at 8 Pisces. He makes his first trine to Jupiter today Feb 16th. Mercury stations at 23 degrees Pisces on Feb 26th and turns retrograde. He 'falls into Venus' arms' at 22 Pisces on Feb 28th. Mercury is at Inferior Conjunction with the Sun at 17 Pisces on March 7th. Then as a morning star he trines Jupiter a 2nd time on March 9th. Mercury is conjunct Mars on March 15th at 10 Pisces, turning thoughts into action. Mercury stations direct on 20th March at 8 degrees Pisces.
Now moving direct again, Mercury trines Jupiter a final time on April 3rd. He leaves his shadow on April 9th at 23 Pisces. Mercury sextiles Uranus on April 15th, with creative ingenuity. Mercury leaves Pisces for Aries on April 15th and is conjunct Neptune on the day of the Aries New Moon on April 17th. This whole period is mentally intuitive and dreamy. Thought processes are guided by intuition, empathy, and subtle, non-verbal cues. Communication expresses ideas through poetry, art, music, and fantasy. Thinking is fluid. This can lead to confusion, escapism, forgetfulness, and a tendency to be overwhelmed by emotions, but essentially this is a time for faith.
Mercury retrograde periods ahead.
Feb 26 to Mar 20, 2026
Jun 29 to Jul 23, 2026
Oct 24 to Nov 13 2026
Feb 9 to Mar 3, 2027
Oct 7 to Oct 28, 2027
VENUS
Venus entered Pisces on Feb 10th as an evening star. She resides in this sign for a brief 22 days. This is a happy residence. Short, tender and sweet. Venus water trines Jupiter on Feb 22nd with comfort and joy. Venus is conjunct retrograde Mercury at 22 Pisces on Feb 28th with more dreams of merriment. Venus sextiles Uranus on March 4th with ongoing excitement. Venus leaves Pisces for Aries on March 6th.
Her next retrograde phase is the 41 day period from Oct 3rd to Nov 14th 2026 in Scorpio and Libra.
MARS
Mars entered Aquarius on Jan 23rd. He resides here for 38 days. Mars now 'does his own thing'. Mars squares Uranus on Feb 27th, a jangled vibration. Mars leaves Aquarius for Pisces on March 2nd.
Mars is next retrograde from Jan 10th 2027 to April 1st 2027 in Leo/Virgo.
JUPITER
Jupiter is in Cancer from June 9th 2025 to June 30th 2026. He is now retrograde (from Nov 11th 2025 to March 11th 2026). Jupiter is exalted in Cancer. His energy is focused on 'the home' and the people, places, and memories that make us feel safe and secure. This one is 'the family way'. Jupiter in Cancer cares. Jupiter in Cancer 'expands home', it centres us on 'selfhood', our place, our world domain. It 'holds together' after the energetic flurry of Jupiter in Gemini. Jupiter in Cancer spreads peace. Not a bad thought in such a chaotic world right now.
SATURN
Saturn is now direct in Aries. Saturn's first foray into Aries lasted from 25/5/25 to 1/9/25. After returning to Pisces for 5 months he finally settled in Aries on February 14, 2026. During the 2025 Saturn in Aries period Ukraine launched 'Operation Spiderweb', a large drone attack on Russian military bases. More than 40 aircraft of the Russian Air Force were attacked. Iran and Israel were at war. Iran attacked US bases in Qatar. Israel was at war with Syria.
The astrology of Saturn in Aries has a focus on disciplined action, pioneering leadership, and structural changes. This transit brings karmic lessons regarding individual responsibility, courage, and self-assertion, often manifesting as intense global transformations and a need for new, bold leadership. Wars do manifest.
During this residence, Saturn is conjunct Neptune on Feb 20th 2026, setting the ball rolling. Jupiter in Leo 'fire trines' Saturn in Aries 3 times, 31/8/26, 3/4/27, and 11/7/27. This is very courageous. Saturn sextiles Pluto once, March 28th 2026, this signals a transformational tome for global structures, focusing on reforming power dynamics and strengthening foundations. Mars conjuncts Saturn at 8 Aries on 19/4/26, a very forceful time with a planetary stellium in Aries. Saturn leaves Aries for Taurus on April 12th 2028. Saturn in Aries forces us to build personal authority and take responsibility. Aries fire forges steel.
URANUS
Uranus is now direct in Taurus. He first buzzed into Gemini on 7th July 2025. Uranus's initial residence in this sign was from July 7th 2025 to November 8th 2025. Uranus re-enters Gemini on April 25th 2026 for a 6.25 year stay, leaving for Cancer on August 3rd 2032. The period of Uranus in Taurus, 2018 to 2026, has coincided with severe weather events around the world and the rise of right wing populist politics, (similar to the 1930s).
NEPTUNE
Neptune re-entered Aries on January 26, 2026, where he will remain until March 23, 2039. On January 26 Neptune entered Aries for the first time since 1875-during which there was the American Civil War, the unification of Germany and Italy, and the rise of spiritualism and new religious movements. Essentially, this planetary transit is a time of great shifts in beliefs and opinions, in paradigms and world orders. Aries brings the pursuit of bravery, freedom, and fresh starts. However, Neptune can be tricky, illusionary and hard to pin down, so we may not see ourselves clearly, or we might struggle with clarifying what we're really trying to change, and why.
PLUTO
Pluto re-entered Aquarius on Nov 19th 2024 and will remain there till the year 2043.
Pluto was last in Aquarius from 1777 to 1798. Pluto in Aquarius will revolutionize society, technology, and collective power structures. This era marks a shift from Capricorn's top-down, traditional control toward Aquarian-driven horizontal power, emphasizing AI, digital rights, and, crucially, the 'power of the people'.

THE LUNAR STANDSTILL.
The Mean Lunar Node is in Pisces. We are (very early 2026) well past the climax of a Major Lunar Standstill. This is a period lasting for three years within the 18.6 year lunar nodal cycle. The last major lunar standstill centred on June 2006, and this current one was centred on January 2025. During these years we are observing extreme northerly and southerly lunar rising and setting points on the local horizon when the Moon is in tropical Gemini/Cancer or Sagittarius/Capricorn.
